No Tradeoffs: Design the Career and Life You Want Without Giving Up What Matters Most rejects the belief that you must sacrifice your health, relationships, or happiness to succeed. Drawing on the hard-earned wisdom of well-known, trusted, and seasoned experts in leadership, performance, and living well, this book offers driven people a bold approach to achieving at a high level, protecting what matters most, and being fully present wherever they are. This isn’t another book about finding balance, it’s about building a life in which professional achievement and personal fulfillment strengthen each other.

You don’t need to lower your standards. You need a better strategy.

Your work deserves your best. So does your life. It’s time to win at both.

Adam Hickman

Adam Hickman, Ph.D. is not your typical student who graduated high school and then went to college to land the dream job of his life. His story has more twists and turns than many would come to expect. However, his life lessons are why he has chosen the profession of serving others. He holds a doctorate in organizational development, a master's degree in management, and master's of business administration in global leadership. He has over 75 publications that have been read world-wide. Adam is a dynamic, hands-on, highly technical leader with a wealth of knowledge and experience building education, training, and organizational development programs. He champions complex projects in research and development that uncover the need for continuing education and training throughout the organization. By his expertise in qualitative research, he has a record of gaining insights into program deficiencies through analysis and the examination of results. Adam serves as an expert in remote and hybrid work. He serves his clients with in-depth knowledge of the research he has conducted as a scholar and practitioner on managing remote workers and the effects of workplace isolation. For more than 15 years, Adam has used measurement, recognition, and forecasting to align business outcomes. He serves as a mentor to Ph.D. and DBA candidates and a coach to those considering conducting research.
