Katherine Kuta
Katherine Kuta is a national award-winning author and professor. She has been teaching for over 40 years at the high school and university levels in the areas of English, reading, writing, and staff development in the Chicagoland area. She is currently a consultant and professional writer. Katherine has also worked as a free-lance writer and restaurant reviewer in Chicago. She enjoys sharing her experiences, knowledge, and expertise with her colleagues and students.
Besides being an accomplished author and teacher, Katherine is a reader, writer, traveler, movie enthusiast, foodie, and nature lover. Her husband, daughter Melanie, family, and friends are the relationships that bring her happiness.
Three of her past works include educational resource books, Novel Ideas for Young Readers!, What a Novel Idea! Projects and Activities for Young Adult Literature, and Reading and Writing to Learn: Strategies Across the Curriculum in print form or ebook. This is her first digital book, Writing in the Digital Age: Using Video Content for Learning in the Visual World, 2023.
She believes “Life is about constantly learning. Reading and writing are necessary skills in life no matter what area of study or work one pursues. The digital age is changing us to think differently - to be more observant, make visual inferences, write to analyze, listen carefully, and read more actively for meaning.”
