Alexandra Lopez-Vera

Dr. Alexandra Lopez Vera is an Assistant Professor of Medical Education and the Director of the Vida Medical Spanish program at the California University of Science and Medicine. She has developed a comprehensive curriculum that equips future physicians with the language skills and cultural competence necessary to provide patient-centered care to Spanish-speaking communities. Dr. Lopez Vera holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Hispanic Languages with an emphasis on Applied Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Public Health from Claremont Graduate University, where she is also pursuing a Doctor of Public Health. Her work focuses on improving healthcare outcomes for underserved populations through health advocacy, with an emphasis on linguistic and racial concordance.
