The authors of this text have sat in your seats, looking at their curriculum and realizing both assessment and research would be required in order to achieve their degrees. This thought seemed a bit overwhelming, but then in taking the courses and completing the projects, it was discovered that the focus of such courses were not necessarily about statistics or terms specific to science and mathematics, but results from the research and assessment revealed stories. In the lines of these scripts, only made possible through research and assessment, the authors found the individuals who were represented by the data. Their stories revealed strengths and struggles in academic achievement. Their evidence revealed options to guide the authors in their next steps. Within their outcomes came opportunities for celebration and pathways towards growth. Join Dr. Lawrence and Dr. Kelly as we converse about the positive impact assessment can have on recognizing the stories of growth and accomplishment in the lives of students.
