FOUNDATIONS OF ARRANGING AND ORCHESTRATION is a textbook designed to aid the novice in getting started creating their own original arrangements and orchestrations. The reader is guided through instrument families and their voices, gaining understanding about textures, timbres, and the unique strengths of each. Projects are sequenced progressively to build skill as the reader gains more confidence. The text offers both traditional and contemporary perspectives on the roles and functions of each performer within an ensemble.
