Mustafa Demir

Mustafa Demir is an Associate Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He holds three advanced degrees in criminal justice—two MAs and one PhD. He received his master’s degrees from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Rutgers University, and his PhD in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University. He also has approximately twenty years of policing experience, including service with international organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. As a pracademic scholar, his research areas include police body worn cameras, procedural justice, police legitimacy, police–citizen encounters, suicide, and terrorism. He has published numerous articles and delivered dozens of academic presentations.
